School visits Waverton with the Jimmy Mizen Foundation

Waverton welcomed five Year 7 students from Forest Hill School, London to teach them about the world of investment

On Friday, 15th May, Waverton welcomed five Year 7 students from Forest Hill School, London to their offices in partnership with the Jimmy Mizen Foundation.

The students were introduced to the world of investment management and given the opportunity to apply their knowledge from the classroom with interactive games and challenges about profit, shares and investing in companies that they know and love. The students met staff from across the business and kept our portfolio managers on their toes with questions on how we pick good investments and the possible impacts of the EU Referendum.

Stephen Browne, Head of Marketing, who ran the training, said “we’re so pleased to be able to work with the Jimmy Mizen Foundation on this visit. Days like this help us to connect with the wider community and it’s great that the students got so involved and engaged in the topics”.

About the Jimmy Mizen Foundation

The Foundation was founded in honour of Jimmy Mizen who was tragically murdered in May 2008; their mission centres on the difficulties faced by youth within our society. By sharing Jimmy’s story with young people, The Foundation enables them to understand the catastrophic consequences of violence. They continue to work with other like-minded people and organisations to be a positive force in the community.
