Waverton Sponsors Go Herdwick Sheep
We would like to introduce ewe to Wilma the Waverton Sheep.
Waverton are proud Sponsors of Go Herdwick Calvert Trust Public Art Tail 2016. As part of the Trust’s anniversary celebrations and Capital Fundraising Drive, 60 life size ewes decorated by a plethora of talented artists are adorning the central Lake District countryside until 4th September. Wilma was painted by Juliet Travers and you can currently find her in Bowness-on-Windermere. We are sure you’ll agree she will be hard to miss!
The Lake District Calvert Trust is an independent charity providing life-changing experiences for people of all ages with sensory, learning and physical disabilities. The money raised from this particular project will be used to help with the redevelopment of Old Windebrowe, a grade 2 listed farmhouse which was once used as a home by William Wordsworth. The aim of the redevelopment will be to deliver six specialised apartments suitable for stroke survivors and those with acquired brain injuries or physical impairments, including a communal area allowing guests to receive occupational therapy and rehabilitative support on-site.
