For Jimmy School Visit To Waverton

For Jimmy took pupils from Addey & Stanhope School to visit Waverton

In April Waverton welcomed 6 pupils from Addey & Stanhope School to give them an insight into Investment Management. Stephen Browne gave an overview of Waverton and the service we provide to our clients. Alexandra Buchan  and David Gibbs then talked about how companies make a profit and gave some examples of companies that we might invest in, including food and clothing retailers and technology companies. The pupils were tasked with selecting a portfolio of three stocks and then calculated how they would have performed over the last three years by holding these stocks in a portfolio. One of the participants selected the top three stocks returning over 80%. The pupils were given a tour of the office and particularly enjoyed seeing how the dealers work and also meeting the CEO in his office. It is always a hugely refreshing and enjoyable experience for Waverton to host such bright and engaged children and it is something we hope to do more of in the future.
