Waverton Breakfast Briefing September 2016
We summarise our latest Breakfast Briefing in conjunction with MRB Research and Dentons Pension Management
The hottest September day in over 60 years saw professionals from the legal, accountancy and wealth management professions join us for the third of our quarterly breakfast briefings.
With Brexit-itus having taken hold, and the EU waiting for the UK to trigger Article 50, what do investors have to look forward to? The daily musings from the US presidential hopefuls are causing concern for us all, but what about the US economy? And what will happen in the rest of the world in 2017 and beyond?
Warren Smith from the Macro Research Board (MRB) delivered an outstanding commentary on some of the difficulties and imbalances facing the global economy. Not afraid to be outspoken, delegates benefited from Warren’s insight and years of investing experience.
Following Warren, Waverton’s own Will Kenney examined the criteria to look for when investing across the company lifecycle.
Finally, to round off the breakfast briefing, Martin Tilley from Dentons Pension Management delivered a fascinating look a SIPP investing and the different types of assets which can be held within a SIPP. Dentons have been in the SIPP market since 1979 and their experience and expertise shows.
We were delighted to host the morning and extend our sincere thanks to MRB Partners and Dentons for making it such an interesting event.
The next, and last breakfast briefing for 2016, will be held on the 29th November. With the US Presidential elections on the 8th and the new chancellor’s autumn statement on the 23rd, it looks set to be an even more interesting time…
We look forward to seeing you there.
