Waverton Proud to Walk For Jimmy

We take part in the Walking For Jimmy Challenge

On 27th May hundreds of For Jimmy supporters couldn't be missed in their bright yellow t-shirts as they walked 21 of London’s bridges from Richmond to Tower Hill to fundraise for this fantastic charity. Waverton staff members took part in the Family Walk this year which was led off by Jimmy’s mother Margaret Mizen and covered 7 of the 21 bridges. The atmosphere and sense of community amongst the walkers was truly special to behold. Alongside raising awareness across the city, the money raised will be vital in helping to build Safe Havens for young people in their communities.

About For Jimmy

For Jimmy was established by the Mizen family after the 2008 murder of 16-year-old Jimmy Mizen in Lewisham, London.  For Jimmy works to make young people safer and build a legacy of peace in Jimmy’s memory.  Through its unique projects it aims to build Safe Havens for children who have been identified as socially and academically at risk, encouraging them to engage with their community to improve their skill and capabilities, so they can lead in building safer and peaceful communities.
