Waverton Walks for Jimmy

Waverton Team completes 21 Bridges Challenge for the Foundation for Jimmy

On Saturday 4th July, Team Waverton completed a 21 mile walk over 21 of London’s bridges to raise money for the Foundation for Jimmy. The group started their walk at Richmond, heading through the centre of London and finishing at Tower Bridge raising over £2,800 and counting.

This is the first year that a team from Waverton has participated in the walk, which forms an important part of our relationship with the Foundation for Jimmy and our commitment to support the work that they do.

The nine hour walk ended with some sore feet but happy hearts and a resolve to get stuck in again next year!

About the Foundation for Jimmy

Following the murder of their son and brother Jimmy in May 2008, the Mizen family have been determined of two outcomes. They will not be beaten by his death and that something good will come from it. Foundation For Jimmy works to make young people safer and build a legacy of peace in Jimmy’s memory, through its projects: Safe Havens For Jimmy, Educating For Jimmy and Working For Jimmy.
